Bertram Braun

Bertram D. Braun is a retired U.S. Diplomat who spent many years working on Balkan issues, especially U.S.-Serbian relations. This includes four years as the Political/Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade (2000-2004) and four years as the Director of Southeast Europe on the National Security Council staff in Washington (2004-2008). After his work on the Balkans, Mr. Braun worked extensively on reconciliation and reconstruction in Afghanistan (2009-2015). Most recently, Mr. Braun was the Director of U.S. State Departments of Global Criminal Justice (2016-2018). Mr. Braun has a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University and a Masters of Strategic Resource Planning from the National Defense University.
