Sławomir Dębski –Sławomir Dębski is an international affairs expert, and an experienced institution builder and manager. Sławomir joined the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) in 2000 as an analyst and has subsequently ascended to the position of research coordinator for Eastern Europe, head of PISM Research Office and ultimately the Director of the Institute in 2007. He is the author of a highly acclaimed book Between Berlin and Moscow: German-Soviet Relations, 1939–1941. From 2011 until 2016 he was Director of The Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding. Dębski’s key areas of expertise include: Polish foreign policy, the EU’s external policy, Russian foreign policy, German-Russian relations, NATO and global security, and the history of diplomacy. He received his PhD in history from the Jagiellonian University in 2002. He holds two master’s degrees, from the Jagiellonian University (1995) and the Central European University (Budapest, 1993).
